Tess couldn't speak to Jacob when he found her. She just couldn't. She got in the pickup and waited. They drove home in silence.
"What happened?" He looked puzzled.
She hugged herself and said nothing.
"God, don't tell me, its ..its the curse again." He winced.
"What?" She snapped. "I can talk." But she got out and slammed the pickup door shut.
"Well, what is it?" Jacob follow.
"You know, what it is." She winced back at him.
"No. I don't. I don't know what's wrong?" He sighed. She was in a huff.
"HER!"
"Who?" He shook his head.
"You know, the vampire you're in love with." Her eyes lit into him.
"I'm not. I'm not in love with a vampire. Are you kidding me? I kill vampires." He informed her.
"Yeah, sure you do." She heaved. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"There is nothing to tell." Jacob glared back at her.
She shook her head, no, went to her room and slammed her door behind. She threw herself on the bed then. She couldn't help but cry. All these feelings she had for Jacob came rushing in and to think he didn't even have real feelings for her. She thought she might be ill. Suddenly, she was beginning to feel that she hated Jacob.
