Tess felt her chest tighten. She thought she might either cave in or explode. It was so strange. This girl who couldn't be any older than she was took a good look at her. Tess couldn't help but stare, but she felt herself heave. Would she stop breathing? Tess felt as if her words were stuck in her throat. She couldn't believe this.
She looked at Embry who made himself at home. He went to the kitchen to look in the fridge.
"Now let me take a good look at you," the girl's lips curved ever so slightly. "I can't believe its really you."
Tess shook her head. It was finally sinking in that perhaps this person was from some neither world. There was a trick she could play with the eye, making her pure like an innocent lily when perhaps she wasn't that at all. Something mysterious and ominous instead.
"Who are you?" Tess managed to get out.
"See, I knew the cat didn't get your tongue." The girl laughed so then. It gave Tess goosebumps.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!" She screamed wondering if Jacob could hear here words somewhere somehow. She pushed away from her, wishing she could leave, but she had no where to go.
"Tess. Tess. You always cried so much. I think thats why your father put such a stupid hex on you. Teach you a lesson, perhaps." She gave Tess an innocent glare then that suddenly penned her to the wall. She couldn't move. Tess fought back. "Here, I go, to all the trouble of saving you from that horrible life of yours, and this is the thanks I get." With a stroke of the finger she had Tess suddenly on the ceiling. As if thats where she wanted to keep her.
Tess stayed still. Any second she thought she'd crash to the floor.
